Window sill problem

Postby BINET » 20 Jan 2011, 13:00

I have found that when i lock a window sill to a window that it makes the wall in which the window is located disapear when wall is cut by an elevation. Example i place an elevation mark in a bathroom (plan view), i drag the lenghth of the elevation beyond the side walls of the bathroom. When i look at the elevation created the window appears in the sectioned wall but not the wall. To rectify the problem i have to go to the external elevation of the wall which contains the window and unlock the sill and move it down so there is a gap between sill and window. This an annoying bug, has anyone experienced the same problem?

Looks like you have two wall elements, when you place window it is hosted by the inner wall element, while the outer wall element remains unaffected. If this is the problem, you shall use the join the both wall elements by join geometry, or shall use a single wall element with wall layers to serve the purpose.
I am sorry if i am wrong in understanding your problem.

Thanks for the reply.
The wall i am using is a single wall made up of 3 layers.
I am sure it is a Revit program issue, can just hope that it may be fixed in a future release
