Unable to use Room Tags in Detail view plans

Happens on Revit Architecture 2008 (definitely up to service pack 2, haven’t tested Service pack 3)

On trying to place a Room Tag in a plan view of a Detail View call out, or a horizontal (plan) detail section, you will come up with the following error message:

“None of the created elements are visible in Detail View: Detail 0 View. You may want to check the active view, its Parameters, and Visibility settings.”

Rooms tags however work fine in all other views including vertical detail sections and call outs.

Solution is similar to when we had room tag problems in sections of Revit 9.1
Create a Symbol family tag for your room tag. Insert it into the detail view plan and manually change the Room name and number.

This has been fixed in Revit 2009.
