recenlty i have been using shadows a fair bit particularly with elevations and the need for sun studies etc.
what i would love is if there was a global switch to turn off shadows in all views at once, as well as view specific.
this would aid in the increased performance for all drawings open...

You can do this in Revit 2009 - You can 'part apply' tview templates, which means you can groiup select views in the project browser, apply view template, and then tell it only to apply only the shadow settings
Cheers,
Wes

is it as simple as a button to disassoiate the shadows as well as apply them.
just mainly because of the lag in speed you get..
for example i am running a single sheet which has worked out to have 8 plans at varying scales all with shadows...

so you can imagine how long things take to process even with the best of machines...
ehhhh...

it's not quite 1 button, but not much more than about 3 (?maybe?)
If you have your browser organisation well setup then your shadow diagrams will all be grouped; just shift select all 8, partial apply view template (3 clicks) and done.

Don't forget to reverse the process before you print!!!
