Truncate a sphere

Could someone please let me know how to truncate the bottom of a sphere that was created using the massing tool. Or if there is any easier way could you please let me know.

In the vertical or the horizontal? I guess it doesn't really matter which - I'm just trying to picture what you're doing. But essentially, all you need to do is create a void that cuts the sphere where you want... you could do this either in the same mass, or as a seperate mass that you use the join geometry tool on..
