Some respondents to our RUGS user survey last year requested that meetings be held out of the city. With this in mind we have accepted Autodesk’s offer to host a meeting at their North Ryde offices.

Agenda
5.00pm: Access to try out 3D Virtual Reality for design.

5.45pm: Meet and Greet.

6.00pm: Welcome.
Max Labecki, RUGS Chairman.

6.05pm: Samuel Macalister of Autodesk
Have you ever wondered what your 3D design could look like in VR? The design industry is an emerging field of focus for VR offering a powerful new way to design, optimise, and monitor products, buildings and infrastructure of the future.

We invite you to join us at Autodesk’s Sydney office in North Ryde for an interactive VR experience. Discover first-hand the power of this immersive design technology and hear Sam Macalister talk about its potential in a variety of applications for our industry from collaborating in a virtual world to leveraging the technology as a sales tool and for stakeholder buy-in. We will have Autodesk’s VR equipment set up and ready for RUGS members to experience both before and after the meeting with examples of what is possible using tools that are readily available to you now.

Please feel free to arrive at the Autodesk Offices from 5.00pm if you can to try it out before the meeting, or stay afterwards to have a go.

7.30pm: Q+A and General Discussion
Anthony Bowden, RUGS Committee.

7.45pm: Close

DIRECTIONS
Part of the decision process for choosing Autodesk’s offices, was the amount of equipment setup that would be required for this demonstration at TAFE at Railway Square. Electing to go to the suburbs will make is much easier for Autodesk and remove any technology issues that often trouble complex presentations. We hope that you can join us for what should be a very interesting evening.

Office Location: Level 5, Building C (Building is labelled Ericson), 11 Talavera Road North Ryde

Driving: If you are driving, the entrance is off Talavera Road, there is parking behind the building and also parking under the building. To access the under building parking you will need to be swiped in.
